Oh my darlin’, oh my darlin’, oh my darlin’ Clementine …

Growing up in the 1960s, I learned to love the classic characters in the Hanna-Barbera universe.

Huckleberry Hound. Quick Draw McGraw. Yogi Bear. The Flintstones. The Jetsons. Wacky Racers. And on and on and on.

600 Characters of Hanna-BarberaThe other day, I came across a marvelous infographic – you can see a very small portion of it at right – which documents (I think!) all of the characters ever created by William Hanna, Joseph Barbera, and the legions of creative people who worked for these geniuses of American animation during the latter half of the 20th century.

Even If the characters created toward the end of the Hanna-Barbera run were less successful and memorable than the earlier ones, that does not diminish the impact these cartoons had on two generations of American children – and adults.

This one is a must-add to your collection.
