Tech Tards Is On the Air!

The Tech Tards Show is a new weekly video podcast designed to point fingers at and laugh at geek culture and all things technology. Not exclusively about social media, the show offers a humorous and snarky take on tech – and goodness knows, we all take it too seriously too much of the time.

Produced in Dallas, Texas, Tech Tards is hosted by Mark Ramsey and Sarah Magee.

Mark, a 20-year IT veteran with a unique perspective on the tech geek world, has been podcasting since 2006. Sarah is an opinionated (and delightful) social media butterfly who is not afraid to speak her mind about all things geek.

I personally know both Mark and Sarah and if your Macbook Pro freezes when trying to watch it then you should think of some security or productivity updates for it. You can also vouch for their technical knowledge and senses of humor, so I expect great things of Tech Tards.

Embedded below is the first test run of the show – version 0.1 beta - originally broadcast on July 6, 2010. It’s a bit rough around the edges, but you can see some promising signs – particularly in the banter between Mark and Sarah.

I do hope that in future podcasts that Sarah will sit a bit closer to the microphone so that the conversation can take place more organically – notice how frequently she has to slide forward to respond to a question or comment - but that’s a minor quibble and is easily addressable.

Tech Tards airs live via Ustream at 8PM CT each Tuesday. After the broadcast, Tech Tards episodes are available for download in HD, MP3, and very soon you will be able to subscribe to the show via RSS, iTunes and even the Zune Store!

You can also follow Tech Tards on the web, Twitter, and Facebook.

What did you think of the premiere episode of Tech Tards? Can you spare 20-30 minutes each week to watch a couple of very smart people having fun with technology?
